Miss HT UNCF Taleah Moore Crowned 2nd Runner Up At UNCF National Conference

Atlanta GA – Taleah Moore, currently serving Huston-Tillotson University as Miss HT UNCF (United Negro College Fund), took second runner-up in the 53rd Annual Miss National UNCF Competition in Atlanta, Georgia Saturday, February 4th. As Miss HT UNCF for the 2016-2017 academic year Moore raised over $5000 for scholarships in the competition.

Taleah Moore, a junior, is a business administration & marketing major from Houston, TX. Aside from her academics Moore utilizes her time outside of class to serve as vice president of the Student Government Association (SGA), is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and also serves as recording secretary in her sorority.

The Miss UNCF competition is held annually to raise funds for scholarships available to the 37 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) that are recognized by UNCF. Students from these institutions form teams for the conference and the leader of the team who raises the most money wins the coveted crown and title. The UNCF “Making a Difference” campaign offers more than $100 million in scholarships to UNCF -recognized institutions each year.
